Central Indiana home sales up for July

INDIANAPOLIS -

There are more positive signs about the central Indiana housing market. According to data from the last three months, the number of closed sales and pending sales were up by double-digits.

The average sales price went up four percent to $168,000. The president of MIBOR said the news is a good indication that consumer confidence is increasing.

The CEO of the Indiana Association of Realtors said July was "a great month in residential real estate across Indiana."

Additional key findings for central Indiana during May 2012 through July 2012:

• New listings increased by 1.3 percent,

• Months of supply decreased to eight months, down 24.2 percent, and

• Total active listings fell by 11.6 percent.
