INDIANAPOLIS -

Indianapolis Metro Police have identified the motorcyclist killed in a crash Monday night.

William P. Graham, 34, of Indianapolis, died after colliding with an SUV at around 8:15 pm on East 34th Street at Gale Street. Graham was thrown from his motorcycle after striking the rear of the SUV, which was eastbound.

A witness told police that the motorcycle was traveling at a high rate of speed when the crash happened. The witness believed Graham was doing 90 to 100 mph. The SUV had just turned east onto 34th Street and the witness said he thought that the motorcycle tried to stop, but was unable to.

Graham was taken to Wishard Hospital where he was pronounced dead. Two women in the SUV were taken to Methodist Hospital with injuries described as bumps and bruises.

An autopsy will be preformed Monday morning on the motorcyclist, but toxicology results are not expected to be immediately available. Investigators believe the motorcyclist was not wearing a helmet.

The driver of the SUV voluntarily submitted to a blood draw, which is standard procedure for a fatal accident. Those results are not immediately available.
