WEST LAFAYETTE -

The Indiana 4-H Foundation has hired a new leader for the group that raises money for Indiana's largest youth development program.

Noblesville resident Elizabeth Ellis begins her tenure this week as the new executive director of the West Lafayette-based group that has supported the statewide Indiana 4-H network since 1961. Ellis is a 10-year 4-H veteran.

Indiana 4-H Foundation Board President Christy Denault says Ellis' 20 years of experience with all aspects of nonprofit work will help the foundation continue its growth. Last year, the foundation had assets of $1.1 million, up from $250,000 four years ago.

Ellis will oversee the foundation's ongoing quests for grant proposals, major gifts, corporate partnerships and annual fund donations.

She'll also serve as Purdue University's 4-H Resource Development Officer.
