Indiana State Excise Police officers issued 32 citations while patrolling around Notre Dame University this weekend.

Excise police cited 16 people on a total of 32 charges, most for illegal consumption of alcohol.

Twelve Notre Dame students were cited on various charges after their car left a liquor store and was then stopped for littering at South Bend Avenue and Jacob Street. All 12 students were in the same car.

The passenger who littered was cited for littering, furnishing alcohol to a minor and no seat belt. The driver was cited for minor transportation of alcohol. The other ten passengers were cited for illegal consumption of alcohol and no seat belts. All occupants indicated they were members of the Notre Dame Lacrosse team. After receiving citations, they walked to their respective dormitories.

Everyone cited this weekend will appear in St. Joseph County Court on later dates.
