Indiana woman, 19, pleads guilty to school vandalism

Posted: Updated:
FORT WAYNE -

A 19-year-old woman has pleaded guilty to criminal mischief for her role in vandalizing a northeastern Indiana school left with thousands of dollars in damage.

Kalie C. Keller of Fort Wayne entered her plea Friday in exchange for Allen County prosecutors dismissing a burglary charge when she's sentenced in September.

The Journal Gazette reports Keller and four men were charged in last fall's break-in at Monroeville Elementary in New Haven that caused about $11,400 in damage. The court cases against the four others are pending.

The group is accused of spray-painting the inside of the building, smashing electronics items, using fire extinguishers and destroying other school property. The school closed at the end of the last school year as part of East Allen County School's redesign plan.
