TRAFALGAR -

A 17-year-old Indian Creek High School student was arrested after other students told school officials that he was showing off a gun in the parking lot Monday. School officials notified police, who arrested the student at his home.

The superintendent for Nineveh Henley Jackson Schools says there was no indication that the student ever brought the gun inside the building.

The student was not at school Tuesday. Trafalgar Police got a warrant, went to the student's house, found the weapon and placed him in custody.

The school district is seeking to have the student expelled from school for the remainder of the school year.
