A judge has sentenced a former central Indiana high school teacher to 10 years in prison on charges of criminal deviate conduct and providing false information on a handgun license.

WRTV-TV reports 45-year-old Daniel Goens of Indianapolis was sentenced Wednesday.

The former Monrovia High School teacher and coach struck a plea agreement with Marion County prosecutors this month in which they agreed to drop charges of rape, criminal confinement and two counts of child seduction.

A 16-year-old girl told police Goens invited her to his Indianapolis home to babysit but when she went there they were alone and he forced her to have sex. The Monroe-Gregg School District fired Goens in December.
