PERU -
A Peru couple is in custody as the result of a criminal investigation by Indiana State Police Detective Josh Rozzi.
Karl A. Wikstrom Jr., 40, and his wife Leslie A. Wikstrom, 36, were both arrested Friday on child molestation charges.
Karl Wikstrom Jr. faces five class A felony counts of child molestation, one class C felony of child molestation, and one class D felony of child solicitation. He is being held in the Miami County Jail.
Leslie Wikstrom faces one felony charge for child molestation and aiding, inducing, or causing child molestation to occur. In addition, she faces felony charges for child solicitation and neglect of a dependent. She is also being held at the Miami County Jail.
The investigation took one month according to officials. Detective Rozzi started on the case after getting a tip from the Miami County Division of the Indiana Department of Child Services. He says he received information that the Wikstroms had allegedly committed sexual acts with two 13-year-old girls from Miami County.
Detective Rozzi's investigation showed that the couple repeatedly committed sexual acts on two 13 years-old girls starting in 2010 until 2012.
Rozzi was assisted in the investigation by Indiana State Police Detective First Sergeant Bob Burgess, Detective Sergeant Rob Ricks, Master Trooper Detective Mike Tarrh, Trooper Mike Lorona, and case managers from the Miami County Division of the Indiana Department of Child Services.
