INDIANAPOLIS -

The Indianapolis man accused in the deadly shooting of a 13-year-old boy is pleading not guilty.

Glenn Beard went to court Friday morning to face a murder charge. The court entered a not-guilty plea on his behalf and assigned Beard a public defender.

Prosecutors say Beard shot 13-year-old Jarrell Tucker in the leg and the back of the head Sunday night. Tucker later died at the hospital.

Meantime, police are now looking into whether someone intentionally set Beard's east side home on North Denny Street on fire Thursday as an act of retaliation.

The shooting Sunday happened right outside this home.
