ROCKVILLE -

A western Indiana man has been sentenced to 165 years in prison after jurors found he fatally beat his ex-girlfriend's live-in boyfriend, then raped the woman and abducted her young child.

A judge sentenced 28-year-old Jeremy Musall of Cloverdale for murder, rape, kidnapping and other charges Thursday. A Parke County jury last month found him guilty in the August 2011 killing of Joseph Snow at a rural home outside the community of Mansfield.

Musall apologized in court to Snow's family and the woman he raped on the night he killed Snow by beating and strangling him in front of Snow's toddler daughter.

Prosecutors said Musall was a spurned man who attacked Snow while he was sleeping. Police found the woman's 20-month-old daughter unharmed.
