INDIANAPOLIS -

A football game for the price of a fast food meal? It may sound too good to be true, but tickets for this weekend's Colts game against the Rams are downright cheap.

One dollar - that's the current bid on eBay for one pair of tickets to this Sunday's game. True, you will be close to touching the ceiling inside Lucas Oil Stadium for these nosebleed seats, but you can barely buy a soft drink for a buck nowadays, let alone tickets to an NFL game.

Right now you can buy tickets requiring no bidding for $10 bucks up to around $100.  And these tickets would normally sell for three to five times that amount.

Why so cheap?

Ticket brokers say there are a few factors:
The Rams don't have much of a regional following and the Colts are an unknown.
Coming off a rough season last year, a lot of fans are waiting to see whether the Colts are capable.

So it's a buyers market and people are taking advantage of the situation.

"When the prices get this low, people tend to say, 'oh, okay,'" said Mike Peduto of Circle City Tickets. "Rather than $10, I can spend 20-30 bucks and get something down closer (to the field). It's not that much of a difference."

And though the game is technically sold out, there are still plenty of tickets available on the secondary market through ticket brokers.

The Colts first preseason game kicks off at 1:30 Sunday afternoon. Tickets for the first regular season game are much more expensive.

The Colts play the Bears in the first regular game in Chicago September 9, and ticket prices jump considerably - to nearly $50.  Even though the team is still an unknown quantity, brokers are seeing demand for tickets and they say it has to do with a certain number 12.

"I think a lot of people want to be able to say 'I was there for Andrew Luck's first game' just like so many years ago with Peyton (Manning)," said Pedudo.  "So I think that has a lot to do with it and people are realizing that's coming up soon."

The Colts home opener against the Vikings is September 16.  Tickets on the secondary market are still well below market value - about half of face value right now.
