INDIANAPOLIS -
About 36,000 utility customers lost power in the Hoosier state Sunday morning after an overnight rain storm ripped across Central Indiana.
As of noon, 22,000 IPL customers were still without power mostly in the north and northeast part of Indianapolis.
There are lot of power lines down and in trees, and IPL is asking the public to stay clear of them until they get to the areas affected by the storm. IPL is expecting it to take several days to get power restored to areas that have been hit by the wind and lightning.
The public can report outages or downed power lines at 261-8111.
