Firefighter Combat Challenge comes to Fishers - 13 WTHR Indianapolis

Firefighter Combat Challenge comes to Fishers

Posted: Updated:

Often called "the toughest two minutes in sports," the Firefighter Combat Challenge comes to Fishers for the first time today. The public is invited to watch firefighters compete in one of the most grueling physical competitions in the world.

But the event also includes fun activities for kids and families.

Firefighters are dressed in full gear, in the heat, to carry out physical challenges that mimic real firefighter situations. A high-rise tower is set up as part of the course at Holland Park.

Firefighters will race up five flights of stairs, carrying a hose to the top as fast as they can as part of one event.

The event kicks off today at 3 p.m. with the beer garden, food, arts and crafts and other vendors opening, followed by kids activities.

Firefighter competitions start at 5 p.m.

Saturday, all the action starts at about 9 a.m., promising another whole day of family fun and competition.
