Indianapolis Metro Police officers have arrested a 19-year-old man in connection with a home invasion last week.

Jacob Caudill, 19, of Indianapolis, was arrested and preliminarily charged after confessing to the assault of a 95-year-old man. Officers found Caudill hiding in an attic Monday.

Officers were called to the 2200 block of South Randolph Street Friday afternoon to investigate a home robbery. They found the 95-year-old man in the home with injuries to his mouth.

The man told officers he heard a knock at the door and a white male teenage suspect pushed the door open, demanding money.

According to police, the suspect pushed the victim down and began to ransack the house, slapping the man in the face and causing an injury to his lip. The suspect dragged the victim throughout the house telling him that he would kill him if he didn't give him money.

The suspect then forced man into a chair and demanded that he hand over the car keys. The victim handed the suspect a pair of keys and the suspect ran out the back door of the house to the garage. However, the keys did not go with the truck that was parked there, and the suspect fled from the scene.
