HENDRICKS COUNTY -

An RV returning from the Brickyard 400 caught fire and burned just north of the Monrovia exit in Interstate 70 Sunday evening. Nobody was hurt.

The Fire Department of Liberty Township answered the call at 6:09 p.m. Sunday at 9440 S. State Road 39. Fire crews found the RV fully involved and had the fire under control within 15 minutes.

Crews were able to keep the fire from spreading to a dry field east of the road.

The owner of the RV told firefighters they were en route home from the race on I-70 when they started to smell smoke and pulled off at the Belleville/Monrovia exit.
