Carl Edwards says his team's decision to replace crew chief Bob Osborne with Chad Norris was made primarily because of Osborne's health issues - not because of subpar performances so far this season.
The Roush Fenway team made the move last week and has not disclosed Osborne's specific health issues. Edwards didn't go into detail either, saying only that Osborne was a "tough, tough man" for dealing with it and still working.
Still, Edwards is 11th in the Sprint Cup standings going into Sunday's Brickyard 400 and is hoping Norris' fresh perspective might be enough to boost the team's performance.
Osborne remains with the team in a management role.
