Officials say student loan provider Sallie Mae is planning to add 200 jobs at its call center in Muncie six years ago, one of three it has in Indiana.
Officials with Sallie Mae, the city and Delaware County say that once the expansion is completed in mid-2013 a total of 900 people will work at the site. Economic development officials told The Star Press that the average pay for the 200 new jobs, and eventually for all the jobs at the center, will $37,000 a year plus benefits.
Sallie Mae is the country's largest student lender.
