Photographer charged in Justin Bieber chase

Posted: Updated:
LOS ANGELES -

A photographer accused of chasing Justin Bieber is the first person charged under a California law aimed at photographers recklessly chasing celebrities for pictures.

The Los Angeles city attorney's office filed four charges against Paul Raef. Police say a pack of six vehicles were pursuing a silver Fisker car driven by Bieber about three weeks ago on a Los Angeles freeway.

Police say a Toyota SUV owned and driven by Raef hit speeds of 80 miles per hour across all lanes and shoulders and cut other drivers off.

Raef will be arraigned August 9. He faces up to one year in jail and $3,500 in fines. He could not be reached for comment.
