Five injured in crash near Sheridan

Three men were flown by air ambulance from the scene of a Wednesday evening crash near Sheridan.  Two other people involved in the three-vehicle crash were also hospitalized.

The crash occurred shortly after 5:00 p.m. on SR 47 and West Road, according to Deputy Vicky Dunbar of the Hamilton County Sheriff's Department.

David Bryan, 38, of Elwood was traveling east on SR 47 when his Dodge Stratus crossed the center line and struck a westbound Ford F150 that was pulling a trailer.  A third vehicle, a Jeep, then crashed into the back of the trailer.

Bryan was taken by air ambulance to St. Vincent Hospital 86th Street with several bone fractures and bleeding from the head.  He was still unconscious early Thursday morning.

The driver of the Ford, 56-year-old Britt Young of Ladoga, was also flown to St. Vincent with a broken leg. The center passenger of the Ford, 26-year-old Scott Young, also of Ladoga, was taken by ground ambulance to St. Vincent injuries to his face and eye.

The right passenger of the Ford, Ryan Brown, 38, of New Richmond, was flown to Methodist Hospital with a broken leg.

The driver of the Jeep, Brenda Singleton of Sheridan, was taken to Riverview Hospital in Noblesville with minor injuries.

Dunbar said the Hamilton County Fatal Alcohol Crash Team is investigating.
