BLOOMINGTON -

Witnesses to a fatal shooting say they watched the car with the person who fatally shot a Bloomington man drive past slowly several times before hearing shots ring out.

Monroe County Coroner Nicole Meyer said it appears 28-year-old Ulysses Goethe died from a gunshot wound to the head. He was pronounced dead at the scene around 3 a.m. Wednesday.

Witnesses told The Herald-Times they watched the shooter's car drive slowly up and down 13th street before the shooting. The shooting occurred about a block away from a line of people waiting overnight to apply for Section 8 housing.

Bloomington police Sgt. John Kovach says investigators are pursuing several leads.
