Indiana Tech plans $15M new academic building

Posted: Updated:
FORT WAYNE -

Indiana Tech is planning to build a new $15 million academic building on the private college's Fort Wayne campus in response to the school's soaring enrollment.

University officials announced Tuesday that the new 60,000-square-foot building slated to open in January 2015 will provide more classrooms and faculty offices intended to attract more students and full-time professors.

The building will have an academic wing and a library wing linked by a rotunda with a multipurpose auditorium and theater.

Like many Indiana colleges and universities, Indiana Tech has in recent years seen record-breaking enrollment. The private school's total enrollment reached an all-time high of 5,437 in fall 2011.
