INDIANAPOLIS -

Two firefighters are recovering from minor injuries they suffered while fighting a fire early Tuesday morning. It happened around 3:30 on east Vermont street, near north LaSalle street.

A neighbor tells fire crews the house had been empty for months. The same neighbor had to evacuate her own home after the fire started to spread. The flames melted some siding, but fire crews were able to stop it before it went any farther.

Two firefighters were treated on the scene but the injuries were very slight.
