Man shot in northwest Indianapolis carjacking

INDIANAPOLIS -

A carjacking victim was shot on the northwest side of Indianapolis early Tuesday morning.

The incident happened just before 12:30 a.m. near 31st and Boulevard, just south of Crown Hill Cemetery. The victim was pulled from his car and pistol-whipped by at least one man, according to police at the scene.

then was shot in the shoulder blade when he tried to run from the scene.

The suspect got away with the victim's dark blue 1995 Mercedes.

Police are still investigating the incident, and have not named a suspect or suspects.
