INDIANAPOLIS -

Officers recovered dozens of marijuana plants after a tip led them to a southeast Indianapolis home.

An IMPD K-9 officer responded to the report in the 7500 block of Southeastern Avenue Sunday. When the officer noticed several suspected marijuana plants in plain view outside the residence, he called detectives in for help.

A search warrant uncovered 63 marijuana plants, a small amount of harvested marijuana, paraphernalia and seized two vehicles, a trailer and a riding lawn mower. Officers also took eight dogs, three cats and the body of a fourth cat, which appeared to have been partially eaten, from the residence.

Police are expected to seek arrest warrants to charge the occupants of the home with several narcotic and criminal charges. Investigators also believe children reside in the home and have notified Child Protective Services for assistance.
