A Wabash College student was found dead in a residence hall on campus Monday morning.

The Crawfordsville-based college said 21-year-old Eric Michael Schilling of Indianapolis was found at around 8:30 am in College Hall by a resident assistant. Police are investigating the death.

According to Wabash College, Schilling, a senior, was not living in the residence hall, but had returned to campus to visit friends. The college says 38 men are staying in College Hall this summer while participating in internships and research opportunities with faculty.

Schilling had made the Dean's List as an English and German double major. He was the son of David and Maureen Schilling of Indianapolis, and his brother, Ryan, is a Wabash sophomore.
