Seven people injured in east side accident

INDIANAPOLIS -

IMPD officers were dispatched to the intersection of 38th and Post Road just after 1 p.m. Sunday on the report of serious accident. 

A car traveling west bound disregarded the red light and struck a Honda van and another car that were traveling north bound on Post Road.

Two IMPD officers and a witness to the accident performed CPR on a five-year-old girl that was an occupant in the van until medics arrived. The girl was in critical condition when she was  transported to Riley Hospital.

A total of seven people were transported to hospitals.  Five adults and one other child, 13-years-old, were transported to local hospitals.

IMPD continues to investigate the accident.
