Expo job fair attracts more than 70 employers - 13 WTHR Indianapolis

There is a great opportunity for you to find a new career today at the WTHR Employment Opportunity Fair as part of Indiana Black Expo's Summer Celebration taking place at the Convention Center.  More than 70 Employers are planning to recruit for jobs in the fields of banking, manufacturing, media, law enforcement, insurance, health, and many more.
 
"They are there because they recognize the talent pool," said Vernon Williams of Indiana Black Expo, "and they are there because they have a legitimate need.  And when you connect recognition of a talent pool with legitimate need, you wind up finding employees."

The fair is from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. today at the Convention Center inside the 500 Ballroom, and offers a chance to meet some employers face-to-face.  On-site interviews may be conducted for certain openings, so professional dress is recommended. 
 
Job seekers can also take advantage of a free resume preparation service in Rooms 116 & 117, where they can speak to career counselors, have resumes created on-site by volunteers from the Indiana State Personnel Department. Ten free resumes are available.
 
There's also a free career development seminar to get some interview tips, social media tips, how to network, how to make a career change, and find out what employers look for in new hires.

The seminars will be held from 10 a.m. - Noon and 2 - 4 p.m. in Rooms 105 & 106.
