Seminars teach landlords how to prevent crime

INDIANAPOLIS -

The Marion County prosecutor's office will hold a series of seminars to train landlords how to prevent crime on their properties.

The free eight-hour seminars will be held at various locations around Indianapolis beginning July 21. Sessions start at 8 a.m.

The course teaches landlords and property managers how to screen applicants, prepare rental agreements, handle gang activity and resolve crises. The seminar also shows how to identify illegal narcotics.

Landlords also will learn tips on how to maintain properties to better prevent crime.
