Cloverdale man convicted of killing ex's boyfriend

ROCKVILLE -

A jury has convicted a western Indiana man on charges that he fatally beat his ex-girlfriend's live-in boyfriend, then raped the woman and abducted her young child.

The Parke County jurors on Monday found 28-year-old Jeremy Musall of Cloverdale guilty of murder, rape, kidnapping and other charges. The August 2011 attack killed Joseph Snow at a rural home outside the community of Mansfield.

The Tribune-Star reports Musall's attorneys argued that his ex-girlfriend enticed him to harm Snow, saying she regretted taking Snow back after kicking Musall out.

Prosecutors maintained Musall was a spurned man who attacked Snow while he was sleeping and beat him for hours before dumping his body in a Putnam County cornfield. Police found the woman's 20-month-old daughter unharmed.

Musall faces an Aug. 9 sentencing hearing.
