Singer Wade Hayes says he really had no idea he was in such bad shape.

Hayes is on the cover of the current "Country Weekly" talking about his stage 4 colon cancer. While Hayes is now cancer-free, he still has a long road to recovery ahead of him.

And he's working on new music, including a song about his battle with cancer called "Is It Already Time?" He says of the song: "every word is true."
