LOGANSPORT -
A drug investigation in Cass County resulted in 29 arrests Monday morning.
State police worked with several federal and local agencies in the investigation, which resulted in arrest and search warrants being executed in eight counties in Indiana and Illinois. The investigation was initiated by the Logansport Police Department, Cass County Sheriff's Department and state police.
"While serving the multiple warrants, officers seized approximately 13 pounds of suspected marijuana, LSD, psilocybin mushrooms, firearms, a marijuana grow operation with approximately 200 plants, approximately 37 grams of suspected cocaine, $34,000 in United States currency, 10 vehicles, and two jet skis," ISP Sgt. Tony Slocum wrote in a release.
The 29 individuals arrested in six Indiana counties and two in Illinois, face federal and state felony drug charges. The following is a partial list of those arrested and the state charges they are facing in Indiana:
- George Z. Setser, 37, Logansport, IN, conspiracy to deal cocaine and conspiracy to deal marijuana
- Dennis P. Wildrick, 37, Logansport, IN, conspiracy to deal cocaine and conspiracy to deal marijuana
- Charles Flaherty, 50, Lafayette, IN, conspiracy to deal marijuana,
- Matt T. Burkett, 38, Logansport, IN, conspiracy to deal cocaine and conspiracy to deal marijuana
- Jay D. Howell, 53, Logansport, IN, conspiracy to deal marijuana
- Jimmy Marshall, 31, Donovan, IL, conspiracy to deal marijuana
- Brandon D. Kinser, 33, Frankfort, IN, conspiracy to deal cocaine and marijuana
- Michael Curtis, 52, Logansport, IN, conspiracy to deal marijuana and maintaining a common nuisance
- Denise Curtis, 42, Logansport, IN, maintaining a common nuisance and conspiracy to deal marijuana
- Kenneth Fox, 44, Logansport, IN, cultivating marijuana and felony possession of marijuana
- Patrick Fox, 46, Lake Cicott, IN, dealing and cultivating marijuana cultivating
Three individuals were also arrested to face state felony charges in Illinois:
- Ricardo Guardia, 19, Illinois state charge for possession of cannabis.
- Jaremy Simms, 23, Illinois state charges for possession of a controlled substance with the intent to deliver within a 1000 feet of a park, unlawful use of a weapon by a felon, and armed violence.
- Wendy Stone, 32, Illinois state charge for possession of cannabis with intent to deliver.
Another man, 52-year-old Rodney Walters of Delphi, was arrested on a felony charge of possession of marijuana and a misdemeanor count of possession of drug paraphernalia. He was not a target in the initial investigation, police say.
Police did not release the identities or charges of 14 others who were arrested Monday.
The investigation is ongoing.
