Police are searching for three suspects, one of whom fired shots at a store clerk early Friday morning.

Metro police officers responded to a reported robbery at the Phillips 66 gas station in the 3000 block of North Franklin Road around 1:45 a.m. Friday. Security video from the store shows three black males, possibly juveniles, entering the business, making a purchase, then leaving.

Minutes later, one of the suspects came back into the store, approached the counter and asked for an item. When the clerk turned around, the suspect pointed a handgun toward his chest and fired a shot that was deflected by the three-inch security glass in front of the clerk. The suspect fired a second shot as he ran out of the store.

The three suspects fled the area on foot.

Police are asking anyone with information about the identity of the suspects to call IMPD Robbery at 317-327-3733 or Crime Stoppers at 317-262-TIPS.
