Police have arrested a suspect in a fatal hit-and-run accident last Thursday night.

Investigators arrested 20-year-old Marvin Carter of Indianapolis, believing he was the driver of a vehicle that killed 36-year-old Michael Holcomb near downtown Indianapolis. Witnesses told police a green Oldsmobile made a quick turn west on 12th Street from North Meridian Street, into the path of Holcomb's motorcycle.

Holcomb laid down the motorcycle, striking the rear of the Oldsmobile. He was taken to Methodist Hospital, where he later died of his injuries.

Prosecutors formerly charged Carter with a felony count of failure to stop after an accident resulting in death and operating a motor vehicle having never received a license, a misdemeanor. He is being held on a $50,000 bond.
