Judge wants audit of Chris Brown's community service program

Posted: Updated:
LOS ANGELES -

So far, Chris Brown has gotten glowing marks for his community service work in the aftermath of his beating of then-girlfriend Rihanna. And now a judge in Los Angeles is trying to make sure everything is on the up-and-up with that part of Brown's sentence.

A prosecutor says there's a possible discrepancy in the amount of community service work Brown has done. Deputy District Attorney Mary Murray says the records aren't clear on how many hours Brown has put in - and where the work had been done.

Brown had been allowed to perform six months' worth of community labor in his home state of Virginia. But a judge says officials in Los Angeles should be able to check those records to make sure all the work has been done. An attorney for Brown doesn't object to the audit.

Brown remains on probation for beating Rihanna in February, 2009. As part of his sentencing, he has completed domestic violence and anger management counseling. The next hearing in the case is set for August 21.
