INDIANAPOLIS -

A free event this week is providing physicals, vaccines and other medical care for your children.

The "Fit For You" free health care event is for children whose parents may not be able to afford to take them to the doctor and also for parents who may not have time to get an appointment before school starts.

MDwise is hosting the event all week at the Raphael Health Center on East 34th Street. They are offering free health screenings, including dental, for all children who need them.

"This week is Children's Health Week, so we are providing school physicals, sports physicals, immunizations, screenings for children, primarily, who don't have insurance and for those who do, but just need to come in sooner, rather than later, at their regular doctor," said family nurse practitioner Jana Treadway.

"We had a good nurse. We had a great nurse. Awesome nurse," said Brandon and Brianna, who received immunizations at the event.

Fit For You runs from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. through this Friday (July 13). In addition to health care, workers are giving out vouchers for free school uniforms.
