Posted: Updated:
INDIANAPOLIS -

Indiana is among 18 states in the country where the condition of corn crops has deteriorated because of the drought.

Sixty-one percent of Indiana's corn is considered poor or very poor, up from 50 percent last week.

It's a similar situation in Illinois, where 48 percent of the corn crop is rated poor or very poor.

The US Department of Agriculture says overall, 30 percent of the nation's corn crop is in bad shape.
