CEDAR GROVE -

Authorities say a 15-year-old Cincinnati girl died after she disappeared while swimming with family and friends in a southeastern Indiana river.

Indiana conservation officers say searchers found the body of Shontel Wagoner-Dugar about an hour and a half after she was reported missing Sunday afternoon in the Whitewater River near the Franklin County community of Cedar Grove.

Officers say Shontel had been boating with others on the river about 25 miles northwest of Cincinnati when the group pulled their rafts to shore and started swimming. They told officers she began struggling and that they weren't able to reach her.
