WHITELAND -

A man and woman were taken to the hospital Sunday night after they were shot outside the Eagles Lodge in Whiteland Sunday night.  A Greenwood man is in jail facing charges in the shootings.

Whiteland Police responded to the lodge in the 500 block of Front Street just after 8:00 p.m.  They were already in the area, according to Chief Rick Shipp, and heard the shots.

When they arrived, police found 45-year-old Paul "Rusty" Martin of New Whiteland shot in the lower leg, and Janet Caraboa, 47, Greenwood, shot in the upper leg.  Both were taken to the hospital, treated and released.

Jailed in Johnson County and facing two charges of Criminal Recklessness with a Deadly Weapon is 50-year-old William Rees of Greenwood.  Police located him at the scene and arrested him, according to Shipp.
