INDIANAPOLIS -

One of the most pressing decisions Indiana's next governor will have to make is whether to expand the state's Medicaid rolls.

When the U.S. Supreme Court recently upheld the individual mandate of the federal health care law, it also struck down a requirement that states expand their Medicaid rolls to cover more people.

That decision kicked the question to the states and Gov. Mitch Daniels said last week he will leave the decision to whoever takes over for him in the governor's office next year.

Republican Mike Pence has been a staunch critic of the federal healthcare law and sounds ready to block any Medicaid expansion if he wins. Democrat John Gregg says he wants to consult with healthcare professionals and Hoosiers before making any decision if he's elected governor.
