TIPTON -

Officials in a central Indiana county say they're getting telephone calls from companies interested in a sprawling plant that's already had two planned tenants file for bankruptcy.

Tipton County Commissioner Mike Cline tells the Kokomo Tribune that investment company W.W. Reynolds is listing the building at $39.5 million. Interim economic development Director Linda Williamson says the never-used building cost more than $100 million to build.

Colorado-based Abound Solar planned to employ 800 to 1,000 people at the factory near Tipton, 40 miles north of Indianapolis, but it announced in late June that it was filing for bankruptcy.

The factory space was originally built for German company Getrag, a parts manufacturer that was going to produce transmissions for a former Chrysler Corp. That project fell through in 2008.
