Computer glitch slows service at BMV Friday morning

Posted: Updated:
INDIANAPOLIS -

A computer problem affected service at the Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles for around three hours Friday morning.

The BMV says the vendors servers that are used to complete transactions were down. The BMV Stars computer system was not affected and some title and registration transactions were able to be completed at different points throughout the morning.

The problem affected BMV branches around the state and online transactions through the BMV. Service was restored by 11:30 am.

The BMV and the vendors are investigating to determine what caused the outage.
