INDIANAPOLIS -
The following counties have announced a ban on personal fireworks. Do not call 911 to report illegal fireworks use unless it is a true emergency (for example, if fireworks have sparked a fire). Instead, call the number provided next to the name of each county.
Bartholomew County: (812) 379-1689. Note: A ban is in effect for unincorporated parts of the county, but not in cities/towns. However, fireworks use is strongly discouraged.
Boone (765) 482-1412. Note: Ban announced July 2, effective for 30 days
Note: Noblesville is also under a fireworks and open burning ban. "As a result of residents complying with the ban, the Noblesville Fire Department has responded to four outside fires since the ban took effect on June 29th as opposed to over 40 outside fires from June 1 - 28. As a reminder, the burn ban includes bonfires, fire pits, and chimineas. Use of a gas or charcoal grill for cooking purposes is still acceptable; however, residents must allow charcoal to cool in the grill and then douse it completely with water and responsibly dispose of it afterwards. Citizens may report violations of the consumer fireworks usage ban and the open burn ban by calling the Noblesville Dispatch Center's non-emergency line which is (317) 773-1300. This number is available 24 hours a day and seven days a week. As always, in the case of a fire or other emergency, call 911."
