JEFFERSONVILLE -

A southern Indiana man faces battery and neglect charges alleging that he burned his 4-year-old son with a cigarette lighter, lacerated his liver and inflicted other injuries on the child.

Logan Wallace Sr. faces nine counts of battery and six counts of neglect of a dependent in the attacks on the boy. He is being held at the Clark County Jail on $250,000 bond pending trial.

The Courier-Journal of Louisville reports the 34-year-old Jeffersonville man allegedly inflicted the abuse at his apartment between June 14 and June 25, while the boy and an 11-year-old brother were visiting him there.

A police report says the boys' mother noticed the injuries when the brothers returned to her home alone on a bus.
