Indiana State Police detectives from the Putnamville Post are investigating a the death of a Greencastle man after he was shot by police.
A 911 call was received, just after midnight, reporting a domestic disturbance involving 28-year-old Charles Aaron Brousard and woman near 511 Sycamore Street in Greencastle. A police officer arrived shortly and approached the man.
According to a police report, that's when Brousard charged at the officer. The officer responded by shooting Brousard.
Putnam County EMS officials were called and arrived just after the shooting when they found Greencastle Police performing life saving procedures on Brousard.
Brousard was pronounced dead at the scene by the Putnam County Coroner.
