New York club has license suspended after celebrity brawl

Posted: Updated:
NEW YORK -

Here's the latest on the beef between Chris Brown and Drake. The New York City nightclub that was the site of a brawl between the two performers' entourages has lost its liquor license.

The State Liquor Authority has pulled the license of W.i.P. and of the next-door Greenhouse club. The decision was made during an emergency meeting of the booze-controlling agency - and officials say the decision was a result of the bottle throwing brawl between Drake's people and Chris Brown's crew last week.

Agency Chairman Dennis Rosen tells the Daily News the Liquor Authority "would not tolerate violent bars that break the law."

The issue isn't over yet. The company that owns the clubs is suing the city, claiming it's losing $264,000 a week.

Chris Brown and NBA star Tony Parker were among those injured in the June 16 brawl.
