A crash has closed Interstate 69 southbound near 116th Street in Hamilton County.

INDOT reports all four southbound lanes are closed due to the crash. Traffic cameras in the area show a semi-trailer on its side. The crash also sparked a grass fire on the side of the road way.

Police say the semi was driving south on the shoulder of the interstate when it suddenly swerved to avoid a concrete barrier. The semi lost control and ended up on its side.

No other vehicles were struck in the incident. Police are investigating if road rage may have played a part in the crash.

The driver of the semi refused medical treatment at the scene.

Southbound traffic is being diverted near mile marker 10 while crews work to clear the crash and firefighters try to extinguish the fire.

The highway reopened around 9 p.m. Tuesday.
