INDIANAPOLIS -

Fire crews were called to the scene of an apartment fire on Vistamere Way near 91st and Masters Road Wednesday morning.

Crews arrived to find heavy fire showing and requested a second alarm. They made an aggressive, offensive attack on the fire that had spread up the exterior wall to the attic and roof. It took around 45 minutes to get the fire under control. No injuries were reported.

Firefighters say smoke detectors were working, and two pets, a yellow lab named Jake and a cat named Carter, were rescued from the home.

The apartment complex is just south of Metro Airport.

IFD marked the fire under control shortly before 9:00 am. They're still investigating the cause.
