Johnson County residents warned of break-ins

Posted: Updated:
JOHNSON COUNTY -

White River Township residents are being asked to keep an eye out after two more burglaries were reported Monday.

Johnson County Sheriff Doug Cox says one burglary occurred on Messersmith Drive in the Windsong Subdivision, while another occurred on Queensgate Drive in the Foxberry Trace subdivision.

Both incidents occurred during daytime hours while residents were away, and in both incidents the suspect kicked in the front door of the home.

The sheriff says to be suspicious of anyone who knocks on the door claiming to be selling something, or who asks for someone who doesn't live there and then claiming they have the wrong house. If that happens, call the Sheriff's Office Dispatch Center immediately at 736-5155. Homeowners should attempt to get a license plate number, vehicle description, and direction of travel of the suspicious person(s) if they have the opportunity.
