Evansville police probe threats against chief

Posted: Updated:
EVANSVILLE -

Evansville police are investigating a series of threatening online posts against police, including one that named Police Chief Billy Bolin and the area where he lives.

The Evansville Courier & Press reports Vanderburgh Superior Court Judge David Kiely said Monday he has signed two search warrants in the investigation. He says he signed one Thursday and another Saturday, and then ordered them sealed. He says he did not want to release them before consulting with Prosecutor Nick Hermann.

The first warrant led to heavily armed police using a stun grenade forcing their way into an Evansville home where they found a teenage girl and her grandmother inside. Police later said the two were not the people they sought. Police have not said who they are looking for.
