NBA star Tony Parker may miss Olympics over eye injury

PARIS -

The beef between Chris Brown and Drake may have cost NBA star Tony Parker a shot at this year's Olympics.

The San Antonio Spurs star was to play for France in the London games. But he suffered a scratched cornea when bottles began flying between Brown's and Drake's entourages earlier this month.

Parker says he has had to have surgery to remove a piece of glass that he said had "penetrated 99 percent of his left eye." Parker says he almost lost the use of the eye - and doesn't know whether he will be play in the London summer games.

He says he will return to New York to see an eye specialist in New York - once doctors give him permission to take long-haul flights again next month. Parker says his eye got worse after he flew overseas shortly after the Brown/Drake fight at a New York nightclub.

For now, he says the decision about whether he'll play in the Olympics is "in the hands of the doctor and San Antonio."
